In Uptown neighborhoods this weekend, two shootings, two carjackings and three robberies were reported to the New Orleans Police Department. Shooting: A man arrived in a local emergency room Sunday night (Dec. 18) with a gunshot wound. Police were notified just before 11 p.m.
By 2 a.m. on Monday, officers confirmed that a shooting occurred late Sunday at Felicity and Simon Bolivar Avenue. The victim, 33, told police he was standing at the corner waiting for a female friend to call when he was shot in the arm.

A man was injured in a shooting Sunday night (Oct. 23) in Central City. The victim, 41, was at Philip and Willow streets just after 11 p.m. when a gunman opened fire. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital by the Emergency Medical Service.

Police blotter: Armed woman forces victims into freezer and robs Claiborne business

Two Uptown businesses were robbed at gunpoint Monday night, the New Orleans Police Department reported. A woman took money from the safe of a business in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue after forcing the customers and workers into a walk-in freezer, police said. The woman was armed with handgun when she entered the business at about 8:10 p.m. She went behind counter and forced five people — four teenage females and a 30-year-old male — into the freezer. She then had the manager open the safe at gunpoint and took an unknown amount of money before fleeing on foot. Later on Monday, at about 10:20 p.m., employees at a Freret Street business were robbed of the night’s tips.

Two armed robberies occurred within hours of each other on Jefferson Avenue late Friday (Sept. 23) and early Saturday (Sept. 24). The first was near Magazine Street and the second at Freret Street. Four people in their late-20s were held up at gunpoint Friday night (Sept.23) on Jefferson Avenue near Magazine Street.

A carjacking, a kidnapping and an armed robbery were reported recently in Uptown neighborhoods. The carjacking occurred Monday evening (Sept. 19) in the Lower Garden District. The victim, a 50-year-old man, was at St. James and Religious street at about 7:45 p.m. when a man approached, indicated he was armed and motioned for him to exit the vehicle.
