Three vehicle thefts were reported in Uptown neighborhoods this week.
The first, with four victims, took place in broad daylight in Central City. Three men, ages 48, 43 and 37, and a woman, 32, were in a car in the 2200 block of Terpsichore Street at about 12:30 p.m. when a man opened the driver’s door and demanded everyone get out, implying that he had a gun.
The victims complied, and the carjacker fled in the victims’ gray 2021 Toyota Corolla, with Oklahoma license plate NPP 9069.
The other carjacking reported on Wednesday was in the University area. A man and woman, both 21, were in a car in the 7300 block of Burthe Street at about 9:30 p.m. when two men got out of a white car, walked up to their car and ordered them out.
The victims complied, and the carjackers fled in the two cars. The stolen vehicle is a white 2015 Mercedes E350 with California license plate 8LLM03.
A car was also stolen Monday night (Dec. 13) from a 22-year-old woman who was driving Uptown near the universities. She pulled up behind a sport utility vehicle at Palmer and Loyola avenues at about 11:35 p.m. when two men got out of the SUV.
They demanded the victim’s cellphone and vehicle. They drove off in her vehicle, but abandoned it a block away.
