The victim, a man in his 40s, was near Henry Clay and Coliseum around 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, when he was approached by two attackers who hit him with a gun, according to the initial NOPD report. They then “put him face down on the ground, frisked him, and stole the victim’s concealed weapon,” the report states.
Further details were not available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 658-6020 to speak to a detective or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
Stole the concealed weapon but not his wallet as well?
I would like to see a column that not only shows every violent crime but also a follow-up to the story with constant updates directly from the police. What happens to the victim, what is the police doing to solve the crime, who are the perpetrators and finally, why did this have to happen. Am I dreaming?
When you carry a gun you have to live in total mental awareness of what is going on around you. Jeff Cooper describes it as condition yellow. If you go through life with your head down and not paying attention (condition white) you should leave the gun at home. As Clint Smith said- If you look like food you will be eaten.
And if you leave your gun at home, you should have a security system to keep the gun from being stolen or you being shot with your own gun should you interrupt the burglary.
And when you do not carry a gun, you have to live in total mental awareness of what is going on around you. Condition yellow, as some fellow describes it. If you go through life with your head down and not paying attention, you should probably stay home. As some other guy said, if you look like food, you will be eaten.
Whether or not you have a gun, you should be aware of what is going on around you if you don’t want to get hurt.
