Entergy’s ongoing upgrade of its transmission lines through the Uptown area will move to Arabella Street on Thursday, the company announced.

For details, see the news release below:

Beginning Thursday, Aug. 6 and running through Wednesday, Aug. 12, weather permitting, Entergy New Orleans, Inc. crews will be working on Arabella Street, from Constance to Annunciation streets, as the company continues the technological upgrade to its electric power transmission system.

Multiple Entergy crews with bucket trucks and cranes will conduct work in stages and traffic will be blocked at the site of each steel transmission pole. Here’s a breakdown:

When “pre-pull” and “post-pull” work is underway, there will be rotating traffic closures (2-4 hours) and no parking will be allowed on either side of Arabella. Instead of using Arabella, drivers should use Nashville Avenue and State Street.

During the critical “pull” work, all automobile, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited on Arabella from Constance to Annunciation. Both Patton and Annunciation streets also will be closed to thru traffic at Arabella and there will be no parking allowed on either side of Arabella during the pull. There will be a safe/guarded crossing at Laurel Street.

Customers in the impacted areas have received specific information about the transmission line replacement procedure in advance. Customer service representatives will continue reaching out to impacted customers while work is in progress.
