Three Uptown sites make preservationists’ list of Most Endangered in New Orleans

The Valence Cemetery, 1824 Sophie Wright Place in the Lower Garden District and the Buddy Bolden House at 2309 First Street in Central City are all among the Louisiana Landmarks Society’s 2011 list of New Orleans’ Nine Most Endangered Sites, according to Bruce Eggler of The Times-Picayune. Also on the list in more general terms are historic shotgun houses slated for demolition and abandoned historic school buildings.
