Suspect sought in Black Pearl home burglary

Police are seeking a suspect in a residential burglary in the Black Pearl neighborhood. He is accused of taking a 65-inch Samsung TV and a Dyson Animal vacuum cleaner from a Garfield Street house. To haul it away, the burglar also stole a cart, pictured below, from another residence, police said. The burglar was last seen on Garfield heading toward Leake Avenue. A white pickup truck with an orange traffic cone in its bed was caught on surveillance following the suspect as he walked along Garfield Street, but it is unknown if there is any relation.

Police blotter: Driver injured in shootout on I-10, armed robberies and burglary in Hollygrove area

Multiple armed robberies and a burglary were reported recently in the Hollygrove area, and a woman was caught in a shootout between vehicles on Interstate 10 near South Carrollton Avenue, according to the New Orleans Police Department. On Monday afternoon (May 2), a driver was struck by a bullet on Interstate 10 near the Carrollton Avenue exit. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, was caught in the crossfire as the occupants of two vehicles began firing at each other at about 2:45 p.m., police said. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. Early on Monday, three men held up a 44-year-old man at gunpoint in Hollygrove.

Police blotter: Two shootings, carjacking, armed robbery, burglary

Crimes reported this week by the New Orleans Police Department in Uptown neighborhoods include two shootings, an aggravated burglary and the armed theft of two pickup trucks. Double shooting: A double shooting injured a woman and a man in Central City on Wednesday afternoon (March 23). They were walking near Magnolia Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at about 1 p.m. when gunfire erupted. The woman, who has not been identified, suffered a graze wound to her leg. The Emergency Medical Medical Service brought her to the hospital.

Police blotter: Four robberies, burglary, attempted carjacking, stabbing

Five robberies, an attempted carjacking and a stabbing were reported to the New Orleans Police Department over the weekend.Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday (June 10), a man and a 54-year-old woman were in an argument in the 8600 block of Oleander Street when the man hit the woman in the face repeatedly. He then grabbed her phone out of her pocket and ran away. On Saturday (June 12) a 28-year-old man was working in the 4000 block of South Robertson Street. He went back to his car around 5 p.m. and was approached by two other men. One of them pulled a gun and demanded he hand over his car keys and other property, so he did so.

Police blotter: Shooting, stabbing, home burglary

The New Orleans Police Department reported a home burglary, a stabbing and a shooting in Uptown neighborhoods over the weekend. On Sunday (April 24) night at about 10:40 p.m., a Lower Garden District resident came home to find two men burglarizing his residence in the 1400 block of Constance Street. When the burglars saw the 25-year-old, one of the men produced a weapon and the other punched the resident in the face. On Saturday (Feb. 24) morning, a 30-year-old man was stabbed during a fight with a woman.

Police blotter: Two carjackings, a burglary, three armed robberies

NOPD reports this week show that Uptown residents fell victim to carjackings, armed purse snatchings, armed robberies and a burglary. Carjacking: A woman, 53, was carjacked Thursday (Dec. 10) night near South Claiborne and Napoleon avenues, the New Orleans Police Department reported. Armed men surrounded her car in the 3000 block of Cadiz Street at about 8:20 p.m., police said. They forced her out and drove off.

NOPD seeking home burglary suspect

The NOPD is seeking to locate a suspect seen on video surveillance in the investigation of a residential burglary on Oct. 23. Surveillance video, available for viewing at this link, shows an intruder attempting to break into a residence in the 1800 block of Jackson Avenue. Suspects sought in Hollygrove home burglary

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating and identifying two suspects in a Hollygrove home burglary on Sept. 12. A surveillance camera captured the above photos at the time of the incident. The residence in the 2600 block of Hollygrove Street was burglarized at about 1 p.m. on Sept. 12.

During a violent weekend across Uptown neighborhoods, a shooting, robbery, burglary and carjacking were reported in the NOPD’s Sixth District. Attack and robbery in Irish Channel

An Irish Channel resident was struck from behind by three robbers while working in her yard Saturday afternoon, the New Orleans Police Department reported. The victim, a 42-year-old woman, was gardening outside her home in the 900 block of Eighth Street about 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, when she was struck from behind. The blow caused her to fall and hit her head on a planter.
