A man was shot death Monday afternoon at the Pelican Pointe Car Wash on South Claiborne Avenue, the New Orleans Police Department reported. Bruce Gaten, 31, was in a car at the business in the 3700 block of South Claiborne at 3:19 p.m when a vehicle parked next to him. A gunman got out of the vehicle and fired multiple gunshots, police said. Gaten died at the scene. Further information was not immediately available.
The NOPD is seeking to locate a person of interest in the investigation of a homicide that occurred on Dec. 27 in the 1500 block of South Liberty Street. The pictured individual is not wanted as a suspect. He is sought for questioning only at this time. NOPD Homicide Unit detectives feel this individual may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation of the killing of Jermeny Marsh, 23.
A man was killed in a shooting in the 500 block of Adele Lane, behind the Walmart on Tcoupitoulas Street, the New Orleans Police Department reported. NOPD officers arrived at the scene Friday (March 13) at about 4 p.m. in response to a report of shots fired. They found Hassaan Riles, 22, on the ground, bleeding and unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Homicide Division at 504-658-5300 to speak to a detective, or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.

The visitation and burial service for Lee Long Jr., a 20-year-old junior at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, was held this past Saturday at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church.
