Car break-in victim shot at while confronting group of burglars (video)

An Uptown resident was fired at after confronting a group of vehicle burglars near Jena and Danneel streets early Sunday (March 1), the New Orleans Police Department reported. He was not injured by the gunfire. The NOPD is looking for five suspects in the aggravated assault and car burglaries. At around 5:20 a.m., the five males were captured on surveillance video breaking windows and entering vehicles on the quiet Uptown street. The video released by the NOPD can be viewed here.

Wanted: Suspects sought in shooting, carjacking, car burglaries

The New Orleans Police Department’s Second District has released photos and videos of suspects in recent crimes committed in Uptown neighborhoods. They include a shooting during a car burglary in Broadmoor early on Mardi Gras Day, an armed carjacking in the Freret neighborhood and a rash of overnight car burglaries at Notre Dame Seminary. The NOPD is searching for a subject wanted for an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred in the Broadmoor area. The incident occurred on early Tuesday (Feb. 25)in the 4000 block of South Derbigny Street.

Police seeking suspects in car burglaries

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating suspects in a string of vehicle burglaries in the Carrollton area on Jan. 1. Between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m., the pictured suspects allegedly burglarized several cars near the intersection of Hillary and Hampson streets as well as the 1500 block of Fern Street. Investigators believe the suspects were driving a gray Jeep Cherokee bearing California license plate 8FJR325. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Video provides clues to string of overnight car burglaries in Milan and Touro areas

The New Orleans Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and located subjects believed to be responsible for a string of vehicle burglaries Wednesday in the Milan and Touro neighborhoods. At around 3:30 a.m. on April 24, several auto burglaries were reported in the 1900-2300 blocks of Gen. Pershing, the 4100 block of Dryades and the 1100-1200 blocks of Milan streets. Surveillance footage captured men looking into vehicle windows in the area during this time frame. The footage can be viewed at this link. The suspects are believed to have been driving a gray or dark-colored Kia sedan during these incidents.

Police arrest two men, seek another in string of burglaries

The New Orleans Police Department has arrested Cecil Bonnee, 27, and are seeking Jaylon Williams Williams, 22, in connection in connection with numerous auto and residential burglaries occurring between Oct. 14 and Oct. 20. Another man was booked with two unrelated auto burglaries occurring in October. During this time frame, the Second District received reports of 30 auto burglaries.

Calhoun Street car burglaries caught on video

The New Orleans Police Department is seeking to identify suspects seen on surveillance video burglarizing a vehicle in the 500 block of Calhoun Street in two incidents, both occurring on Nov. 2. The first burglary incident,  at 12:31 a.m.  A white Audi vehicle was used by the suspects in this incident. In the second incident, at 1:55 a.m., a white Ford F-150 truck was used.
