Lucas Diaz (via NOPD)

Luis Diaz, who was wanted on a robbery charge after his alleged attempt to pass a counterfeit bill at Elio’s Wine Warehouse last month led to an employee there firing on his getaway car, was attempting to evade arrest in Plaquemines Parish on March 30 when he was shot by a deputy as he attempted to drive through a roadblock, our partners at WWL reported. Diaz was treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder and charged with attempted murder of the officer, and Melissa Lewis, accused of driving him in the Elio’s incident, was charged as a fugitive.
