Olympic gold medalist, Pro Football Hall of Famer featured at Youth Sports Field Day

The New Orleans Sport for Community Coalition and Laureus USA will host a Youth Sports Field Day and celebration of sport on Saturday, September 10. The event will take place at AL Davis Park, located 2600 LaSalle Street, and will feature Laureus USA CEO and Olympic gold medalist Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, and Laureus Ambassador and Pro football Hall of Fame member Marcus Allen.

The Youth Sports Field Day is designed to encourage kids to move and experience the high quality sports programming available in the community by visiting 10+ stations of activities, games, and sports. Featured providers include YouthRun NOLA, Discovery Fest, Playworks Louisiana, Girls on the Run New Orleans, The First Tee of Greater New Orleans, YLC Kicks, and Up2Us Sports.

Participation in Field Day is free and open to the public. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m., and early arrival is suggested.

Last year’s Field Day at Joe W. Brown Park brought together youth, coaches and youth sports advocates from across Greater New Orleans and featured Laureus USA ambassador and Olympic gold medalist Kelly Clark. This year’s event Participation is FREE and each participant will receive fun and engaging program take-aways as well as an event backpack filled with activity tools and program information.
