This week, The Broad is going back in time for a very good reason. Due to huge popular demand we are bringing back a film that rocked you to your core and made you ask for more. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY returns to The Broad for a return engagement complete with our special surprise gift from its first run. We will be playing Queen’s entire Live Aid set in front of each screening, so show up extra early to see the real Freddie Mercury tear down Wembley Stadium. CREED II, RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET, and FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD remain in our lineup for next week.

This Week at The Broad: Now is the Time for Heroes

We are less than 48 hours away from Thanksgiving here at The Broad and it is time to unleash the big guns, two gloriously crowd pleasing films that pair perfectly with Mom’s stuffing and Uncle Marc’s questionable takes on the midterms.

CREED II is the sequel to one of the most unexpectedly classic films of the decade. We didn’t know then in 2015 that director Ryan Coogler would take over the world with Black Panther when he resurrected the Rocky franchise and placed it into the hands of Michael B. Jordan. Handing things off to new director Steven Caple Jr., this film is both a sequel to Creed and the immortal ’80s classic Rocky IV. Come for Adonis Creed, but stay to find out what happened to Ivan Drago and his family. RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET continues the story of Ralph and his friend Vanellope von Schweetz as they enter the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to fix Vanellope’s arcade machine.

Candidate’s Message from Clerk of Civil District Court Chelsey Richard Napoleon

A Message from Clerk of Civil District Court Chelsey Richard Napoleon:

My parents taught me the importance of strong work ethic, academic achievement and service to the community. I now employ those lessons in working every day with our staff and citizens of this great city to ensure that they have access to justice at the Clerk of Civil District Court’s Office. I graduated from Ben Franklin High School and UNO, earning my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Political Science and Loyola University College where I received my Law Degree. I have served you in the Clerk’s Office for over 16 years, serving as Chief Deputy and now as your Clerk of Civil District Court. I led efforts to modernize operations in the clerk’s office; ushering in technological advancements, fostering increased public access and working to ensure that the office runs in an efficient manner.

Candidate’s Message from Omar K. Mason: New Orleans Deserves Experience On The Bench

Omar K. Mason, Candidate for Civil District Court Judge

Every six years, the citizens in New Orleans are faced with a critical question – who deserves to be elected judge of Civil District Court? Unfortunately, due to the untimely death of Judge Clare Jupiter, the voters of Orleans Parish must answer this important question earlier than expected. As the legal community mourns the passing of a terrific colleague, friend, and judge, the citizens of Orleans Parish are reminded of the significance of who will be granted the opportunity to serve our community for the remaining two years of Judge Jupiter’s term. It is with great humility, enthusiasm, and preparedness that I ask the people of New Orleans for their vote to serve our community as the next Judge of Civil District Court, Division E.

Every day we turn on the news, we are reminded of the serious times that we live in. Hatred, oppression, divisiveness, and injustice are regrettably consistent realities experienced by the people of New Orleans.

Candidate’s Message from Austin Badon: Providing Efficient, Cost-Effective and Easy Access to Justice for All

Dear New Orleans Voters,

My name is Austin Badon and I am running to be your next First City Clerk of Court. The reasons why are fairly simple: I love helping people, I am willing to work hard to improve our community, and I firmly believe your family and mine should have access to the justice system in a manner that is efficient, cost-effective and easy. The Clerk of First City Court is an administrative position, and most of you know this office as the door to the “people’s court” or First City Court where four Judges you elect hear small business and personal claims.

When this office is run right, our city works better. When our basic disagreements as citizens are resolved quickly, there is no need for “street justice”. Quite simply, we’re all safer.

Ben Franklin will hold its Admissions Open House from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, and all interested families are invited to attend. The fall movie season however is just days away as award contenders make their way from the festivals up north to the cinemas down south. This week’s new release is a true pleasure, no guilt required. NIGHT SCHOOL stars the breakout star from Girl’s Trip, Tiffany Haddish, along with one of America’s most popular comedians, Kevin Hart.
