Danae Columbus: LaToya Cantrell ready to move beyond District B council seat

“I am ready to lead this city,” proclaimed District B Councilmember LaToya Cantrell last Friday night. Though billed as a Halloween party at the French Quarter home of trial lawyer Darleen Jacobs, there was some pretty serious politicking going on as Cantrell announced she would seek “higher office” without specifying whether she will qualify for council at large or mayor.

Tulane PD, PJ’s Coffee to host community discussion with local officers

The Tulane University Police Department (TUPD) and PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans (PJ’s) will to host the first “Coffee With a Cop” program at 5 p.m. on October 26. The program is an opportunity for community members to come together with the TUPD in an informal space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee.
