Donald Trump was elected President of the United States because he “rekindled a dream for millions of
Americans” at a time when the Washington establishment “failed to stand up for the people they were elected to represent,” said former Trump insiders Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie. The duo was in Metairie earlier this week for a luncheon and signing of their recent book, “Let Trump Be Trump.” Hosted by the Greater New Orleans Republicans, the event also featured Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry who introduced the authors.

Adopt-A-Cop: Giving back to krewe in blue

While keeping people safe and keeping the parades in line, many New Orleans police officers patrolling during Carnival have no time to eat during their 8- to 12-hour shifts.

To provide some relief, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation created “Adopt-A-Cop,” so people can donate food or money to help feed the officers while they patrol the parade routes.

Walking into Backatown Coffee Parlour while DJ Chinua is spinning Caribbean Funk vibes could make you feel a little guilty because you’re out on a weeknight, but when it’s carnival season, the word “guilt” is never mentioned. There’s more of a crowd than there would be on a typical weekday, and that’s all due to a pop-up event hosted by Eat NOLA Noir.

Just in time for Black History Month, Eat NOLA Noir previewed New Orleans Black Dining Week last Wednesday (Jan. 31) at Backatown. The semi-annual event will begin Feb. 12 and last until Feb. 24. The organizers previewed what’s to come for the themed cuisine week, set to bring more exposure to Black-owned eateries in New Orleans through social exchange.
