One man was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night on Fern Street, and another robbery victim was beaten with a bat by a group of teen attackers early Thursday morning, New Orelans police said.

Around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, a man in his 30s was walking in the 3100 block of Fern when he was confronted by an unknown man with a handgun who demanded his money, the report states.

“The victim stated he had no money at which time the subject demanded the victim’s wallet and fled,” the report states. “The victim’s wallet contained about $105.00 in cash.”

Around 3 a.m. Thursday, a man in his early 30s was in the 2400 block of South Carrollton when he was confronted by five young teens wearing ski masks who demanded his phone, the report in that case states.

“One of the five demanded his phone and another went through his pockets,” the report states. “When he resisted, one of the teens struck him on the back of his head with a bat and another one took his phone.

“The five suspects then fled the scene on foot,” the report continues. “The victim then walked to a business in the 2400 block of South Carrollton and an employee requested police assistance from an officer who was inside the store.”
