Residents near the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Willow street will lose power for much of Wednesday as part of the ongoing construction of a new drainage canal there, Entergy announced.
The outage will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, and last until around 3 p.m., the release states. For more details, see the notice from Entergy below:
Approximately 70 Freret-area customers along Jefferson Avenue near Willow Street will experience a power outage Wednesday, Nov. 2 beginning at 8 a.m. so that a portion of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project can safely be completed.
The duration of this outage should be less than eight hours, with customers’ power expected to be back on by 3 p.m. as the SELA project work is completed in that area. Traffic on South Liberty Street between Valmont and Octavia streets will be affected, but Jefferson Avenue will remain open. Entergy representatives personally notified impacted customers in advance.
