A man driving on Earhart Boulevard was killed Tuesday evening after his car hit a median and crashed into a tree, New Orleans police said.
The man was driving a four-door Lincoln “at a high rate of speed” on Earhart Boulevard toward Broad Street when he lost control of the vehicle, hit a cement median, crashed into a tree and flipped onto its roof, according to a NOPD news release. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while two passengers in their 20s were both taken to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, the report states.
“Blood and alcohol tests are pending and the investigation is ongoing,” the report states. “The Orleans Parish Coroner will release the victim’s name and will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.”
