The Alliance Française hosts the first round of an International Photo Contest on the theme “Climate, State of Emergency”

The Alliance Francaise hosts a local social media-based contest. One first place finisher selected by the Alliance Française of New Orleans will be entered in the international competition for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Paris and a chance to exhibit his/her photos with 40 other international finalists.
The Fondation Alliance Française chose the theme for its 5th annual international contest to align with the 21st UN Conference on Climate Change, to be hosted by Paris in December 2015. Candidates are invited to submit works illustrating the issues that arise in their environment/climate and its actual or perceived changes, the resulting effects on people’s lives, and the solutions, public or private, which in their countries are taken or imagined to fight against the negative effects of these developments.
Submissions will be accepted Monday, May 25th- Monday, June 8th.
Candidates 18 and older must submit 2 photos via Facebook, tagging The Alliance Française of New Orleans and using the hashtag #climatetatdurgence. An entrance form found at af-neworleans.org must also be completed to be eligible to win.
One first placed-finisher will receive a $100 cash prize, presented at the Bastille Day Fête on Saturday, July 11th at the Spanish Plaza, and will be entered in the international competition for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Paris and a chance to exhibit his/her photos with 40 other international finalists in Paris. One second placed-finisher will receive a $50 cash prize.
