A woman walking on Valmont Street in the Freret neighborhood Monday night was robbed at gunpoint, New Orleans police said.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking in the 2000 block of Valmont (about a block from Jefferson and Loyola avenues) around 9:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, when a tan Toyota Prius pulled up nearby, according to the initial NOPD report. Two men got out of the car with blue bandanas on their faces, and one held a gun, the report states. They demanded her belongings, took an iPhone from her, and then left, the report states.

A carjacking with no weapon was also reported around 8:45 p.m. Monday night in the 2000 block of Constance Street in the Lower Garden District. A report on that case was not immediately available.

In a third robbery, a woman in her 20s was walking near Joliet and Olive streets in Hollygrove around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday when she was “approached by a known female,” according to the initial report. “An altercation ensued and the female produced a knife and struck the victim and took her cell phone and purse.”
