A woman was carjacked at gunpoint Monday afternoon behind Academy of the Sacred Heart, New Orleans Police said.

The victim, a woman in her early 30s, was sitting in her vehicle at the intersection of Cadiz and Carondelet streets (a block off St. Charles Avenue) around 5:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, when two men armed with a gun approached, according to the initial police report. The men pulled her out of the vehicle, then drove off in it, police said.

Further details were not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 658-6020 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.

  1. Very hard to believe that the police would not say what type of vehicle was stolen if any news organization took the time to ask.

  2. This is crazy… The NOPD seems willing to provide more information about the alleged victim than about the Second Amendment advocates who relieved her of her car.
