Two men were injured Saturday night by gunfire in the Hoffman Triangle area of Central City, and another man was cut by a bottle during an argument early Saturday morning in the Freret neighborhood, according to weekend crime reports from the New Orleans Police Department.

In the shooting, the two men were in the 3400 block of Erato (near South Galvez) at 11:57 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 9) when shots were fired, and both were hit, the NOPD report states. Both men were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, the report states.

In the cutting incident, a man in his late 30s was drinking with a friend inside a location in the 4600 block of Clara Street (near Valence and Upperline) around 3:40 a.m. Saturday when his friend “struck the victim with a bottle, then fled,” the report states. The victim was treated at the hospital, the report states.

Further details were not immediately available in either case.
