New Orleans police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man and a woman who took an elderly man’s wallet from him by force in west Carrollton earlier this week, authorities said.

Around 4 p.m. Monday (Aug. 4), the man “verbally assaulted the elderly victim and forcefully took his wallet out of his pants” in the 2000 block of Cambronne (near Spruce Street), according to a NOPD news release. The couple then left, driving a red Chrysler with body damage to the rear of the vehicle, the report states.

The couple — who were later caught on surveillance camera — are now wanted on charges of simple robbery, the report states. Anyone who can help identify them is urged to call the NOPD Second District station at 658-6020 to speak to a detective or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
