A teen girl was carjacked on South Saratoga Street on Wednesday evening, and a man was robbed at gunpoint as he walked on Broadway Street later that night, New Orleans police said.

In the carjacking, the 16-year-old victim was in the 4100 block of South Saratoga Street (between Milan and Marengo streets) around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, when she was accosted, according to the initial police report. Her attacker demanded her belongings, and when she handed them over, the assailant left in her vehicle, the report states.

In the robbery, a man in his early 20s was walking near Broadway and Green streets in the university area around 11:45 p.m., when another man got out of a nearby vehicle with a gun, the initial report states. The gunman took the victim’s cash, his cell phone, and a gift card and a bank card, the report states.
