The alleged gunman in Tuesday afternoon’s shooting on South Roman Street has been arrested and charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, New Orleans police said.

Charles “Butter” Andrews, 22, was arrested by the NOPD street-gang unit Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Broad Street and St. Bernard Avenue, said NOPD Officer Frank Robertson III, a departmental spokesman.

Andrews is charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder in connection with a shooting that wounded two men shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 5) in the 1400 block of South Roman Street, police said.
