Two men inside a home on Baronne Street in Central City were awakened early Tuesday morning by intruders who hit them while demanding drugs, New Orleans police said.

The two victims — one man in his mid 50s and another in his early 30s — were asleep at a home in the 3000 block of Baronne Street (near Seventh Street) around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday (July 1) when they were awakened by two strangers “asking where the drugs and pills were,” according to the initial police report.

“The victims didn’t have any, so the subjects began punching the victims,” the report states.

Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, the report concludes. Further details were not available.
