A suspect arrested in connection with a robbery at gunpoint in the Lower Garden District last week has also been charged in two previous cases in the Marigny area, New Orleans police said.

In the Lower Garden District case, a group of four men confronted a victim in the 1900 block of Constance Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday (July 2), demanding his belongings and striking him in the head with a gun after he handed them over, police said at the time. Video surveillance of a group of four men arriving and departing from a white sedan nearby was released after the robbery.

Sixth District detectives arrested 18-year-old Henry Petite in connection with the crime, booking him on a charge of armed robbery early in the morning of July 4, jail records show.

On Monday, detectives from the downtown-based Eighth District linked Petite to two previous incidents — an attempted simple robbery that took place June 24 in the 1400 block of Chartres, and an armed robbery from June 29 near the intersection of Royal and Marigny, said NOPD Officer Frank Robertson III.

Petite remained in jail Tuesday morning on three counts of armed robbery and three counts of attempted simple robbery with a total bond set at $600,000.
