Two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of another teen behind an abandoned Hollygrove home earlier this month, New Orleans police said.
Dwayne Williams is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old whose body was found behind an abandoned home in the 2600 block of Monroe Street around 2:30 a.m. July 7, authorities said. The victim had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams was arrested around 8:30 a.m. today (July 31) by the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrants Squad at 7620 Stonewood Street in New Orleans East, said Officer Garry Flot, a departmental spokesman. Homicide Detective Clinton Givins led the investigation.
Jerry Rixner, a 23-year-old alleged to be a co-perpetrator of Williams, was arrested Wednesday in Mesquite, Texas, and is awaiting extradition, Flot said.
