New Orleans Police are looking for a man in his 60s on an attempted-murder charge following a stabbing last week on South Claiborne Avenue, authorities said.

During an argument with the another man in the 4100 block of South Claiborne Avenue (near General Taylor Street) early in the morning of May 30, 62-year-old Lenson Cormier “became very irate and stabbed the victim in the neck twice,” according to a NOPD news release.

“The victim is recovering from his injuries in stable condition,” and Cormier is now wanted on an arrest warrant on a charge of attempted second-degree murder, the release states. He had not been booked into the Orleans Parish jail as of Saturday morning, records show.

Anyone with information as to Comier’s location is urged to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
