New Orleans police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly broke into a home on Audubon Boulevard in the Fontainebleau neighborhood, authorities said.
A resident of the 400 block of Audubon Boulevard left the home around 8:20 a.m. Monday — “making sure all doors and windows were locked and secured,” according to the NOPD police report — and returned around 5:30 p.m. to find the kitchen window open and several items missing from the house.
Security cameras in the area photographed a man walking up the sidewalk around 12:30 p.m. and then in between the houses there, according to the NOPD report. He is described as a thin black man in his 40s wearing a white T-shirt, khaki shorts, black tennis shoes and a black baseball cap, the report states.
Anyone with information that may help identify him is urged to call the NOPD Second District at 658-6020 to speak to Detective Sa’Brina James, or to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
