After being rained out last month, the 610 Stompers and the Hot 8 Brass Band will return to Palmer Park on Sunday afternoon to lead adult teams in a games-oriented “Romp” fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, organizers said.
The event will run from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Palmer Park at Claiborne and Carrollton. In addition to the games — which include relay races, tug-of-war and volleyball — food and beverages will be available for purchase in the park, and attendees can help paint a 20-foot long community mural.
The event is free to attend and watch, and costs $25 per person to compete for the “golden hammer” trophy and grand prize beach trip to Pensacola. Onlookers can also pay $5 to participate in individual games. Register at habitat-romp.org.
