New Orleans police are looking for a man who was seen with a digital-music player shortly after it was stolen from a Freret resident’s vehicle Monday morning, authorities said.

An unknown suspect got into a yard in the 2400 block of Valmont Street (about two blocks from Freret and Jefferson), entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Bose SoundDock from inside it, according to a NOPD news release. Shortly afterward, a man was seen and photographed carrying the same item, the report states.

“Automobile burglaries continue to plague the Second District,” the release states. “Please secure all of your property, remove items of value — including loose change, computers, cellular telephones, weapons, etc. — from your vehicles, and utilize alarm systems as well as surveillance systems.”

Anyone with information about the man’s identity is urged to call the Second District at 658-6020 to speak to a detective or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.

  1. It would be shocking if this guy could not be caught very quickly.

And good job to the person who thought to snap the photo!
