An argument between two people escalated into an armed robbery when a third person tried to intervene early Thursday morning in the Hoffman Triangle area of Central City, New Orleans police said.

A woman in her early 30s was arguing with the suspect — a person she knew — in the 2500 block of South Galvez Street (near Second Street) around 1 a.m. Thursday, according to the initial police report. Another man, also in his early 30s, tried to break up the argument, but the suspect pulled out a gun and robbed both of them of their cell phones and cash instead, the report states.

Further information about the suspect was not immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111.

  1. How many times do you wish you could end an argument that way: “Hey, you know what, just give me your wallet and we’re done – I got the power – Bye.”
