Maple Street Patisserie’s Earhart Boulevard expansion will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday morning, joining a number of other recent new bakeries in the Uptown area.

Maple Street Patisserie et Bistro at 8300 Earhart (just off Carrollton Avenue) will hold its ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday with hors d’oeuvres and champagne.

“The first 10 customers that morning will receive 10 percent off their purchase and bistro diners will have the option to receive a dessert on the house with their purchase of an entrée,” according to a news release from the business. “Patrons can also register to win an assortment of prizes, including a dozen assorted pastries, a free lunch or a basket of fresh, artisan breads.”

Uptown New Orleans has also seen recent openings of two other new bakeries. Toast, at 5433 Laurel Street, is a new breakfast spot from the owners of Tartine, offering “cinnamon rolls and biscuits as big as bread plates” and aebleskivers, “poppable, fluffy, round pancakes with a variety of fillings,” according to Sarah Baird of Gambit. And, at 4838 Magazine, Fare Food Apothecary serves “sweet baked goods like cupcakes, raisin spice cookies, and flax muffins,” according to Baird.
