New Orleans police are asking for the public’s help identifying for a man believed to have stolen a laptop from a vehicle parked in the Carrollton area over the weekend, authorities said.

An Apple laptop was stolen from a vehicle in the 2500 block of Cambronne (about a block off South Claiborne) on Monday, according to NOPD Second District Detective Robert Rigamer. That night, the same computer was sold at the Magnolia Discount Zone on South Carrollton, Rigamer said.

Surveillance cameras captured an image of the suspect at the gas station, a location he is believed to frequent, Rigamer said. The computer was later recovered, but police are still trying to identify the man in the photo.

Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. You can also call the NOPD Second District station directly at 658-6421 to speak to Detective Rigamer.
