The Freret Neighborhood Center will host a block party this evening (Thursday, May 8) in the Neighborhood Housing Service parking lot to honor a group of more than 1,500 volunteers from technology company Ingram Micro who will be working on projects around the area.

The party runs from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot at 4528 Freret, with food and beverages provided. The event is free, but space is limited, so anyone who wants to attend is asked to contact the Freret Neighborhood Center at 4605 Freret directly for tickets.

Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world’s largest wholesale technology distributor, today announced that on May 8, it partnered with nearly than 1,700 associates, manufacturer and reseller partners to clean and beautify the historic Freret Neighborhood by assisting local residents with front yard improvement projects, street clean ups, painting tasks and other community beautification efforts at the local cemetery, playgrounds and schools.

The project was coordinated with local organization Neighborhood Housing Services and the Freret Neighborhood Center as part of Ingram Micro’s inaugural IMOne, a one-of-a-kind channel partner event that features solution providers and manufacturer partners from five distinct Ingram Micro partner communities, including Venture Tech Network (VTN), SMB Alliance, Healthcare, Public Sector Elite and System ArchiTECHs.
