New Orleans police are seeking the public’s help finding a 12-year-old boy who allegedly shot a teen several times in Broadmoor on Thursday, authorities said.

Wardell Young, 12, allegedly got into an argument with a 17-year-old around 7:30 p.m. Thursday (May 22) in the 3200 block of General Taylor Street, according to a NOPD news release. During the argument, Young pulled a gun and began firing, hitting the teen victim several times in the body, the release states. The victim was listed in stable condition afterward.

“On May 6, 2014, Young’s mother had reported him to police as being a runaway,” the release states. “Young is considered to be armed and dangerous.”
