Police have release a computer-generated sketch of the man who tried to strangle a woman inside a Carrollton-area home Wednesday evening, and are seeking the public’s help in identifying him as quickly as possible.

The man showed up at a home in the 8200 block of Green Street (about a block off Carrollton) around 7 p.m. Wednesday and tried talking to the woman, identifying himself as Patrick, said Commander Paul Noel. She cut off the conversation and went inside to the bathroom, and when she came out, she found the man in her hallway with a rope in his hands, Noel said.

She fought the man off and managed to call police, Noel said, but investigators have yet to determine how he got into the house.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall, muscular-built white man in his early 20s, with blond hair in a crew cut and freckles on his face, police said.

Noel said the Second District is pouring resources into the case, in hopes of finding the man and preventing another attack.

“That’s a case that we absolutely have to solve,” Noel said. “Patrick was seen lurking around that neighborhood before, so I do think it’s a case we’ll be able to solve. It’s something that really does concern us.”

Anyone with information should call the Second District at 658-6020 to speak to a detective or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
