Three adults and two children were at a Central City home ransacked by armed intruders early Sunday, New Orleans police said.

A woman in her late 30s had left the home in the 2500 block of Second Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when she was confronted by two men, one of whom brandished a handgun, according to the initial police report. They demanded her money, then forced her to allow them inside the home, the report states.

The intruders ransacked the home, leaving through a rear door with cash and jewelry, the report states. Four other victims of the home-invasion are listed in the report — a man and another woman, both in their late 30s, a 7-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl.
