New Orleans police have arrested a suspect in the sexual assault of a woman in her Prytania Street home earlier this month, court documents show.

The woman was at her home on Prytania near Valence around 7 p.m. March 11 when she discovered a man standing inside her bathroom doorway, according to court records. She asked who he was, and he replied, “Randy,” and she ordered him to leave, the reports state.

She tried to escape down the stairs, but they began to struggle and he began sexually assaulting her, the reports state. She continued screaming, however, and he ran off toward Bordeaux Street, the reports state. Police later released a computer-generated sketch of the suspect.

Ronnie C. Ricks, 30, was identified as a suspect by NOPD Sex Crimes Detective Reuben Henry, and the victim was able to identify him, according to an arrest warrant at the Orleans Parish Courthouse. Ricks was booked into jail Tuesday on charges of forcible rape, sexual battery and home invasion, and bail was set at $300,000. Prosecutors also obtained a restraining order preventing Ricks from communicating with the victim in any way.

Ricks was arrested in the 4000 block of Burgundy, but several addresses are listed for him in the court documents: one on Michaels Street in Algiers, and two addresses near the intersection of Upperline and South Liberty in the Freret neighborhood.
