Super Sunday — the annual celebration of Mardi Gras Indian culture at A.L. Davis Park — has been postponed to March 30 amid concerns about rain this weekend, organizers said.

The festival will start at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 30, and the parade will start at 1 p.m. at Washington Avenue and LaSalle Street, organizers said. The parade heads down to Martin Luther King Boulevard, back up to South Claiborne, then down Washington back to the park.

The event will include performances and appearances by not only the Indians but also the Hot 8 Brass Band, Troop Brass Band, Stooges Brass Band, Big Al Carson, B.R.W. Singing Group, D.J. Captain Charles, Joe Cool Davis, D.J. Jubilee, the Young Men Olympians, the Lady Buckjumpers and Step Up/Step Out.

This year’s event was originally scheduled for March 16, but had to be postponed because of the threat of bad weather then as well.
