Raising Cane’s now plans a total of three Uptown locations; a new ice-cream shop is opening on Freret Street; a new building on Magazine Street will host a location of the upscale Brick & Spoon chain; and Pizza Domenica is on track for an April opening, according to recent reports.
Raising Cane’s will open new locations in former Kentucky Fried Chicken spots at Thalia and St. Charles as well as Forshey and Carrollton this year, in addition to the Magnolia Marketplace location next year, reports New Orleans CityBusiness according to the GNO Real Estate News blog. Other locations will be in Gentilly and the Riverwalk.
Ice Cream 504 Company Store will begin selling 10 to 16 flavors from a shotgun on Jena just off Freret in about two months, reports Todd A. Price of The Times-Picayune. Owner Michael Southall had been selling at the French Market and will be selling his ice cream at the Freret Street festival on April 5, Price reports.
Brick & Spoon — which specializes in Southern cuisine and has three other locations in Lafayette, Orange Beach, Ala., and Houston — will be a ground-floor tenant in a new condo building on Magazine near Washington, according to the Canal Street Beat blog.
Finally, Pizza Domenica has posted signage for its restaurant at 4933 Magazine, which is set to open next month, reports Eater NOLA.
