A new Vietnamese restaurant offering a Pho Challenge has opened on Magazine Street; Waffles on Maple expects to open soon and the culinary team behind Company Burger is now providing the menu at Cure just down Freret Street.
Pho Cam Ly opened last week at 3814 Magazine, and it dares diners to “try to down two pounds of vermicelli, two pounds of meat and all the broth in the giant bowl in under one hour,” according to Will Coviello of Gambit.
In the university area, Waffles on Maple hopes to begin selling waffles and crepes at 7712 Maple later this month from its brightly colored stand with the waffle facade, reports Todd Price of The Times Picayune.
Finally, chef Adam Biderman of Company Burger has begun creating the food menu at nearby cocktail lounge Cure, reports Stacy Coco for NOLA Defender. Among the highlights are the Curewich, “two fried eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon that has been braised for hours, and green onions on a bun,” Coco reports.
