The Irish Channel will throw its biggest party of the year Saturday, when the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade rolls and long-standing block parties hit the streets.

The Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club will celebrate its 66th annual mass at noon Saturday at St. Mary’s Assumption Church (at the corner of Constance and Josephine). The parade will then begin at 1 p.m., starting at Felicity and Magazine, rolling up Jackson, then to St. Charles, over to Louisiana and back down Magazine.

On its final leg, the parade will pass by Third Street, where Tracey’s and Parasol’s will both be hosting their annual block parties. Tracey’s is at 2604 Magazine, and will have green beer, corned beef and cabbage. Parasol’s is a block away at Third and Constance and will have “music, green beer, food and surprises.”

Both block parties will repeat again all day Monday.
