A woman allegedly gave a man a ride to a home in the Lower Garden District early Wednesday and then robbed him, and New Orleans police are now hoping the public can help identify her from surveillance photos they recovered, authorities said.

The woman picked the 28-year-old victim up in the French Quarter around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday and gave him a ride to his temporary home in the 1600 block of Annunciation Street, according to a NOPD news release.

“The subject then demanded cash and property from the man, threatening him with bodily harm and implying that she was armed with a gun,” according to the release.

The suspect is described as a roughly 5-foot-6, 200-pound black woman in her late 30s with a light to medium skin tone, according to the news release. She was driving a silver, four-door car, possibly a Nissan Maxima, and she had a second woman with her, the report states.

Anyone with information should call Sixth District detectives at 658-6060 or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111.
