After pleading guilty on Friday to charges of simple robbery and carjacking in a May 2013 attack on a judge outside his Carrollton home, 19-year-old Demetrius Givens Jr. was sentenced to six years in prison and Leonard Robinson, also 19, was sentenced to three years, according to court records.

Criminal District Court Judge Frank Marullo was not harmed in the May 22 attack in the 7900 block of Birch Street, and he said late last week that the sentences on the two teens were “really fair,” according to a report by Naomi Martin of nola.com. Carjacking carries a mandatory sentence of between two and 20 years in prison, according to state law.

The only reason they were probably even caught is that they attacked a judge.
