A man was wounded in a shooting Monday afternoon in west Carrollton, about two blocks from where another man was killed late last week, New Orleans police said.

Monday’s shooting was reported around 1 p.m. near Green and Monroe streets, according to NOPD Officer Garry Flot. The 20-year-old victim was shot several times in the buttocks, Flot said.

“The victim was standing on the corner talking on his cell phone when he was approached by a unknown subjects in a black vehicle,” according to the initial police report. ” A long gun appeared through an open passenger window and the victim started running.”

The victim was later listed in stable condition, the police report states.

Last Thursday evening, 39-year-old Gerald Roberson was shot to death on Cohn Street near Monroe, authorities have said.
