Water pressure will drop most of Tuesday morning (Jan. 7) along the upper end of Prytania Street for work related to the installation of the new Jefferson Avenue drainage canal, officials said.

The low pressure will affect residents and businesses on Prytania from Jefferson to Soniat Street between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to Robert Jackson, spokesman for the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.

Workers will be tying in a new water line as part of the utility-relocation that is preceding the construction of the new box canal under Jefferson Avenue, Jackson said.
