Officers in the New Orleans Police Department’s Uptown-based Second District are still collecting gifts and donations for their third annual toy drive for needy children.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys (or $5 cash donations) can be dropped off at the Second District station at Magazine and Napoleon any time, day or night, through 5 p.m. Tuesday.

In the neighboring Sixth District, which covers the area from Napoleon Avenue downriver to the Lower Garden District and Central City, officers held their annual “Christmas in the Sixth” celebration this weekend, distributing bicycles and toys to children from nearby schools.
