One man was shot in the leg Tuesday afternoon on Amelia Street, and another man was shot in the hand late Wednesday morning on Delachaise Street in separate incidents about seven blocks apart in the Milan neighborhood, New Orleans police said.

Around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, a 34-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 2700 block of Amelia Street (near Magnolia Street), said NOPD Officer Frank Robertson III. He was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle and listed in stable condition, Robertson said.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, a 28-year-old man was shot in the left hand in the 1900 block of Delachaise Street (between Danneel and Dryades), said NOPD Officer Hilal Williams.

Further details were not available in either case. Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.

If you want to put a stop to this then shut down the open air drug market at the corner of Saratoga and Delachaise. This corner has been the hot spot for heroin dealing since early last summer. Everybody seems to know about it except NOPD’s 6th District.
