Freret Street will host two different rallies tonight (Wednesday, Dec. 4), a Christmas-themed roundup of food trucks at Dat Dog, and a $50-per-person fundraiser for Mayor Mitch Landrieu at Publiq House headlined by the Brass-A-Holics.
At the December monthly “Dat Truck Wednesday” event, five vendors — Mamita’s Hot Tamales, Nate the Pie Guy, NOLA Girl, Foodie Call and Empanada Intifada — will serve Christmas-themed versions of their offerings at Dat Dog (5030 Freret) from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will include live music and drink specials.
Meanwhile, the “Young Professionals for Mitch” fundraiser will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at Publiq House (4528 Freret). Tickets are $50, and the host committee includes state Reps. Jared Brossett, Walt Leger III and Helena Moreno, state Sen. J.P. Morrell, state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education member Kira Orange-Jones and former City Council candidate Dana Kaplan.
