Darkness to Light, a national child-abuse prevention organization, will present its training film “Stewards of Children” in a special screening at Children’s Hospital tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 3) at Children’s Hospital, hosted by the New Orleans Children’s Advocacy Center.

The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and the screening begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Children’s Hospital. For more information, see the news release below:

Child sexual abuse prevention program red carpet premier

Mobilize your community to take action against child sexual abuse by learning how to prevent this epidemic in real time. Take a step towards prevention and commit to take Darkness to Light’s award-winning prevention training, Stewards of Children v.2.  On Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. The New Orleans Children’s Advocacy Center will be hosting a reception and red carpet premier of the new and shortened Darkness to Light 2.0 film. Come ready to walk the red carpet, reception starting at 5:30 p.m. with the film screening at 7:00 p.m.  This event will take place in the Children’s Hospital Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

Darkness to Light is a national non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of child sexual abuse. Since its initiation in 2005, Darkness to Light has trained more than 500,000 adults throughout the world in Stewards of Children.

The new two hour version of Stewards of Children takes a culturally relevant look at current issues. The documentary features expert guidance and advice from both professionals and parents as a part of a five-step action plan to help adults protect the children in their lives. The redeveloped program also includes updated statistics as well as current topics in child sexual abuse prevention. Each participant will be inspired to take personal responsibility in preventing this epidemic.
